Ronald William White
VERGENNES — Ronald William White, 47, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury.
He was born Jan. 2, 1961, in Burlington, the son of William and Esther (Martell) White.
He drove for many years for ACTR and made many friends. Friends say he will be missed dearly and that he was a very giving and caring individual to many and all and would do anything he could to help his fellow man.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Linda White of Vergennes; a stepson, Scott Whitney and wife Mary of Charlotte; three brothers, Ricky White and wife Audrey of Vergennes, Richard Clark and wife Penny of St. George, William Clark and wife Betty of Bristol; a sister, Robin Warner and husband Tim of Panton; sisters-in-law Helen Barrows and husband Clifford of Vergennes, Shirley Barrows and husband Ray of St. George, Yvonne Lafrance and husband Moe of Milton, and Deanna Lunn and husband Roger of Illinois; two brothers-in-law, Chet Clark and wife Debbie of Bethel and Andy Clark and wife Gloria of Northfield; six grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Monday morning, Jan. 5, at Victory Baptist Church in Vergennes, with interment at Prospect Cemetery in Vergennes. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Victory Baptist Church, Vergennes, VT 05491.
Kathleen Diane “Kat” Myrick
BRIDPORT — Kathleen Diane “Kat” Myrick, 57, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008.
Born Jan. 14, 1951, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Frederick A. and Kathryn M. (Giard) Myrick.
She was a graduate of Middlebury Union High School, class of 1969, and of the Fanny Allen School of Nursing, class of 1972. Early in her career she worked for 25 years at Fanny Allen in Burlington as an LPN. Prior to her illness, Kathleen had been employed at Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Middlebury since 1996.
She was an avid reader, cook and craftsperson. Owner of 500 cookbooks, she especially enjoyed watching Food Network. Kat also liked making jewelry and knitting hats and scarves for her many family members.
She is survived by her mother, Kathryn Myrick, of Bridport, with whom she lived; six sisters, Karen Nunn and her husband Joe of Bridport, Kelli McSweeny of Marion, Mass., Kristine Andrews and her husband Jim of Salisbury, Kim Laramie and her husband Spencer of Canaan, N.H., Karla Marks and her husband Tom of Cape Coral, Fla., Klaudia Gray and her husband Mike of Harrison, Maine; two brothers, Kip Myrick and his wife Lori of Essex Junction and Kevin Myrick of Bridport; 13 nieces and nephews; and six great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Frederick A. Myrick.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, at Sanderson Funeral Home at 117 South Main St. in Middlebury, with Sister Gertrude Myrick, Sisters of Mercy, officiating. A spring burial will take place in Bridport Central Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Helen Porter Healthcare Center Recreation Fund or to the Steve Giard Fund, c/o Darwin Pratt, Pratt’s Store, Bridport.
Ann M. Collier
MIDDLEBURY — Ann M. Collier, 92, of Middlebury died peacefully on Dec. 31, 2008, at her home with family by her side. She was born in Hughsonville, N.Y., and remained a resident until she relocated to Middlebury in 1979.
In honor of her wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
