Anthony L. Susco
MOUNT HOLLY/VERGENNES — Anthony L. Susco, 63, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at Rutland Regional Hospital.
He was born Jan. 5, 1946, in Burlington, the son of Joseph and Beatrice (Blaise) Susco.
He attended Rutland schools prior to enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed by Simmonds Precision in Vergennes for several years. He later retired from the technical field at IBM in Essex Junction. He enjoyed vehicle restoration, woodworking and country living.
He is survived by two sons, Daniel of Mount Holly and Craig and his wife Sadie of Milton; two sisters, Eva Sorrell and Sue Alberico, both of Rutland; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents in 1999 and by his son Brian in 1994.
Funeral services were held on Jan. 17 at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes, with interment in Prospect Cemetery in Vergennes.
Christopher H. Gevry
VERGENNES — Christopher H. Gevry, 24, died at home in Vergennes on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009.
He was born Nov. 24, 1984, in Middlebury, the son of Lee and Debra Gevry.
He is survived by his parents; two sisters, Brooke Gevry and Ingrid Gevry; a half-sister, Stacy Prall, a half-brother Brian Gevry; and a niece and nephew.
Services were held Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Victory Baptist Church in Vergennes.
RUTLAND — Paul Cassarino, 87, of Rutland, died Jan. 7, 2009, at Rutland Health Center.
He was born in Pazzello, Sicily, on March 4, 1921, the son of John and Carolyn (Armenia) Cassarino.
He was a 1940 graduate of Middlebury High School and a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
He was employed at Rutland Railroad and 3-M Co. and was a retired U.S. Postal Service clerk.
He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Rutland American Legion Post 31, DAV, VFW, Rutland Moose Lodge and Rutland National Guard, 43rd Division, 172nd Infantry, Co-A.
He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and music.
He is survived by two sons, John Cassarino and his wife Mary of Rutland and Peter Cassarino and his wife Sharon of Rutland; a daughter, Anna Wilkinson and her husband Al of Rutland; two brothers, Alfred Cassarino of Weybridge and Joseph Cassarino of Monkton; two sisters, Agatha Morrow and Janet Handy, both of Burlington; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Madeline S. Cassarino, and by a son, Anthony “Tony” Cassarino.
A funeral Mass was held Jan. 17 in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, with interment to take place at a later date in Calvary Cemetery.
